5/18/12 Now in DANIEL 3:10;Thou, O king, hast made a decree, that every man that shall hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, shall fall down and worship the golden image: Satan has made a decree, he has made a law. This is the works gospel. Satan has now crafted the new works gospel, and which looks and sounds so perfect, that it will take the whole world like as a flood. Even the elect can and most likely will fall into this snare. So God is showing this event that is coming shortly, in order to warn His people and to make them aware of the coming flood form the mouth of Satan. Notice in this verse, it says, every man. This false gospel is so powerful, so deceiving, so true looking, and sounding so good to the ears of people, that they will say, listen to this, it has to be right, it sounds so right, this is the way! Like a flood, it will sweep away the whole world. DANIEL 3:11; And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth, [that] he should be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace. Again saying that if you follow not this gospel, then you are not saved, and will not go to heaven, and will die in hell. So Satan sets up a law and if you don’t follow that law, you will come under judgment. That’s the works gospel, the works gospel that was throughout time. DANIEL 3:12;There are certain Jews whom thou hast set over the affairs of the province of Babylon, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; these men, O king, have not regarded thee: they serve not thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up. Here, these 3 men are not following the works gospel! DANIEL 3:13;Then Nebuchadnezzar in [his] rage and fury commanded to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Then they brought these men before the king. Notice he is in rage, angry, and those who are in a no works gospel, the ones who get angry are those (in) a works gospel. Because they,( in a no works gospel) are not doing what we are doing! They don’t believe the way we believe! They don’t follow the law like we follow the law! So they are angry and cause strife. This also has been going on for ages of time. And we can see this anger through the history of the world. Just as we read in Revelation 12:12,Therefore rejoice, [ye] heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. Having great wrath, (great anger) because they are not following the works gospel! Same idea, and notice, he has a short time, time for Satan is running out, and he knows it! DANIEL 3:14; Nebuchadnezzar spake and said unto them, [Is it] true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, do not ye serve my gods, nor worship the golden image which I have set up? And in an orderly fashion he doesn’t kill them on the spot but brings them in to hear them. And he says, is it true. How is it possible that you don’t serve my gods, nor worship the Christ works gospel? (Which is represented by the gold, Christ is the gold here). DANIEL 3:15; Now if ye be ready that at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the image which I have made; [well]: but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who [is] that God that shall deliver you out of my hands? If your ready now, in other words if your saved, saved by works! Notice, if you do this one work well, then you are saved, your in heaven. All you have to do is this one work. But if you don’t do it, you will die! And then he asks, who is that God, who is that Christ, that shall deliver you! Because he doesn’t know this new Christ. It’s like he’s calling God out! Who is this God? DANIEL 3:16;Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we [are] not careful to answer thee in this matter. Saying, we have no need to answer to this matter. Now that was not the right thing to say. He’s the king! And we must be obedient to the authorities. DANIEL 3:17;If it be [so], our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver [us] out of thine hand, O king. More on this study Lord willing, next week
