To avoid confusion, Karl Kreidbaum is only my nickname, not my real name.
About this nickname: A friend of mine studied physics and when he became more experienced he pretended to be a new physics student and wrote tests using the name of a student that does not exist: Karl Kreidbaum.
Of course, I am a real existing person, but I do not exist under this name. Please apologize that I do not give my real name away, but I do not want to give any data that can me misused. Of course, the most of you are honest, but a minority may not be and I do not want to give them a chance to misuse my data. It is a lesson I learned from chess: Fight against risk or risk will fight against you.
There are many reasons for me to play chess: It is a good self-education: I have to concentrate, to plan, to react to the unforeseen, I have to think before I do something and than to see that I did not think enough. Blitz chess helps me to recognize patterns in short time. In a short time I must see and understand what is going on. Chess teaches me to learn to loose and to survive if I do not get my way. And - chess has its own kind of humor.
