About Me:

Hi, I'm Kyle.  I am 15 years old and love to play chess.  I really like playing OTB, but there are few tournaments around, so I can't exactly play more than one small tournament a month.  I have always liked playing counterattacking openings that are complex.  I always try to make my own improvements on theory; even if I fail, I still learn valuable information about the position I am dealing with.  So far, I have made some improvements in existing variations, but have also made a couple openings of my own.  If you have an improvement in a opening variation, feel free to run it by me and I will give you feedback on it.

My chess is very inconsistent.  I can absolutely crush a 2200 and then hang a piece the very next game.  I am very good at explaining the logistics of certain moves, but sometimes have a difficulty thinking with this objective mindset in my own games.

The Benko Gambit is one of Black's modern tries against d4.  Black attempts to sacrifice a flank pawn to gain open files on the queenside and wrest the initiative away from White.  Top Grandmasters such as Carlsen, Topalov, and even Kasparov have p...Read more »
