I taught myself to play chess at age 6 or so I have loved it ever since. Fred Reinfield was my early mentor using his books. It has been only in the past year or so that I have become determined to improve my game and committed to study it, as I have the time. I tend to be a positional player (too passive though?) but lately I have improved tactically so I am pleased with that. I am trying to become more positionally aware and to make less blunders. Openings, I try to play good chess moves and have not memorized to many opening lines at least yet. I have other I believe more pressing issues with my game that I need to work on first. I do like and prefer either the English,Catalan or Reti. Black I tend to play the Sicilian or Alekhine. My desire is to learn, improve and have fun, not necessarily in that order but always including all three, so I take my chess seriously, but not too I think, life is a balance with Jesus Christ as my Lord my center, my life.
