I was born in Hungary. I learned to play chess from my grandfather when I was around 6. I was pretty good at it, but I preferred Track & Field and played chess in school teams only when I was injured. After I moved to the USA, I organized and won various company chess championships.
My greatest achievement was to be the highest rated (around 2200) player in the Cleveland FreeNet Chess Championship. FreeNet was the most popular pre-Internet project during the late 1980's. My goal is to reach the 2200 rating here.
I play chess for fun, I never spent too much time on openings, so my openings are weak, my middle game is ok but my end games are (usually) strong.
