About Me:

Hi, My name is Michael. I learnt chess from my father when i was six. I gave the game up for 10 years but now im back into it and am totally hooked. I  love the complex positions that can arise from the Sicilian openings. I prefer solid positional play over an all out attacking style, however there is always a time and a place for sacrifice usually when you oponent least expects it! To me there is nothing more satisfying than a well played end game. I enjoy the endless challenge that chess brings. Karpov is my favourite World Champion.

Chess is where art and science collide.

Great movie lines:

I know what you're thinking. Did he fire six shots or was it only five? Well to tell you the truth, in all this excitment i kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question:

Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, Punk?

Submitted by Mikhail007 on Oct 15, 2010 12:00am.

Here is a recent OTB game i played in which instead of going for the more complicated tactical blow, i decided to simplify into a won endgame that resulted from a forced combination of moves. Sometimes it's easier to simplify as it gives your opponen...Read more »
