I've played chess since I was about 6 years old, it is the only thing that has stuck around in my life, despite my play being erratic at times (that's a polite description!)
I find it a most frustrating game but when I'm buried deep in an opening, trying for the life of me to work out which move is going to help me, and I realise that hours have passed by then I know that it is also the greatest of all games.
Just a side note - I've had a few Q's about my login name. NS stands for Nigel Short, my favourite chess player. As I said on a thread here he may not be the best player of all time but he fights hard and is always entertaining. He is also English and extremely nice (they go together don't they?!) So there you go, no I'm certainly not a genius, but Nige is.
