About Me:
I was once considered a prodigy in our town when I won a local tournament (at the age of twelve) participated mostly by adults. However, I never had a chance to put my skills to test in sanctioned tournaments basically due to time constraints and lack of sponsors and therefore never had official OTB chess rating.
The more important priorities in life limited my chess to weekend blitz games with nothing more than bragging rights and sometimes with small bets at stake. Thus, I strived to memorize openings and played mostly by intuition. To develop my game on a deeper level, I study in-depth the games of world-class players whenever time allows. Morphy, Capablanca, Alekhine, Tal & Fischer are my favorites and among the lesser known, Portisch & Gligoric.
I can play competitive chess and given more than enough time to make a move, I can probably elevate the quality of my game several notches. However, winning or losing is not as important to me as learning and meeting new people.
