Learned chess as a child, Played Club chess and weekend congresses from early 1970s until about 1995. have not played since 1995. Highest BCF grade achieved was 147. most recent was 117. I retired this month so need to fill in my time and intend to become reacquainted with chess
Time to up date - Over 18 months and 1000 games on this site. I love the site and have met hundreds of great people and only a few you would rather avoid. Rekindled my enthusiasm for chess so much I played in the 60th Paignton Congress in September, my first Chess Congress for 25 years. I am hooked on this site.

Paignton Congress 2011 was much better for me than the 3/7 achieved in 2010.
This time 3 wins and 4 draws gave me 5/7 and this joined a 5 way tie for 2nd place, with the winner half a point ahead. I felt much more comfortable than last year and pla...Read more »
