I am no longer a tournament player, but did enjoy tournaments in the Ohio area and correspondence chess in a number of organizations including the CCLA, APCT and ICCF groups. Nowadays because computers have taken a lot of the fun out of correspondence chess, I like to play chess variants instead and have played such games as Janus Chess, Gothic Chess, Grand Chess and Embassy Chess on servers. These all add some combination of B+N and R+N movers on larger boards. I have also dabbled with Oriental games such as Shogi or Xiangqi, but find the large board variants more chess-like than their oriental counterparts.
