About Me:
I retired from making a living when I was 56 wanting to spend more time with my wife of some 35 years (and we are still on our honeymoon) I am very active in my church as an elder and bible teacher. My wife and I also do a fair amount of marriage counseling Pretty new to chess - played about 15 - 20 games - (never on-line) I'm intrigued about learning By mid May 08 - I've completed my 1st 10 on-lne games - my rating went up almost to 1500 (pure luck I think) - I am now in the mid 1300's and wondering where I will settle.
In November 2008 I began playing "touch move" - I am finding this a much more interesting way to play. Clearly I have to pay more attention and focus. I have only played a few games this way so far and I expect my rating will dwindle but for some reason I don't really mind because I am enjoying playing so much more
Well here I am in Sep 08 - went all the way up to the mid 1600's and now back to mid 1400's - still don't know what rating is true - I have learned one thing - if I do not focus I sure can make some major blunders - Let's see if I'm any better after 100 games
