About Me:
I am originally from Georgia (USA) living in Portugal since 1997. I retired also in 1997. Over the years I have had many interests/passions: archery, martial arts, hunting, fishing, movies and good food/restaurants to name a few. I have been playing tournament chess for more than 30 years but mostly in the Southeastern states of the USA. (1973-1997) I have also played for teams in 3 different countries: USA, Germany and now Portugal. My favorite openings include several sicilians , french, spanish (ruy lopez to Americans), slav and kid. I once read that players under 2500 have no "style" but I like agressive play and most of my decisive games are decided in the middlegame. I am weak in endings and have been meaning to study them more seriously for years now but havent yet.
