About Me:
I started working on chess about three years ago. Trying to teach this "old dog" brain a "new trick" (chess) takes a lot of work. So I keep going through various chess books and keep active in the local chess club. We weren't having any local tournaments during the summer months, so I became a USCF tournament director and direct about half a dozen tournaments a year. I've also been volunteering at my old high school as an assistant chess coach, and a got nominated and elected as one of the officers for the ND Chess Association. My friend, "gvak" on chess.com, called me a worm after a couple good moves during one of our games at the local chess club. After that we had fun joking about me being a worm. I joined chess.com primarily to play him, so I used TheWorm as my login name and found a nice worm drawing for my picture. I have an adorable Irish Wolfhound (named Max after the Grinch's dog).
