Occupation: Clinical Trials Researcher.

About Me:

My work mostly involves writing articles and giving lectures about the (lack of) quality of medical studies.  One might be amazed to learn of the tricks that are used routinely to ensure that even worthless or harmful medications can be made to look safe and effective, even in ostensibly rigorous studies funded by the most prestigious funding agencies, conducted in the most prestigious universities, and published in the most prestigious medical journals.  My goal is to follow in the foot steps of Upton Sinclair, to help clean up this jungle that is medical research.  Working on a book at the moment.  I also play soccer, work out, and bike.  On the chess board, my most lethal attack involves the clock -- I win more games on time than any other way.  So I am nowhere close to as good as my rating might suggest.  I am fully capable of losing any game at any time.  Good thing I play more for fun than to win.
