Greetings, all and sundry
My great friend, LadyCrysania, whom I've known since June 2007, introduced me to Chess.com so I give it a whack.
My life as a wood pusher began in the Philippines at the age of 6 and I have remained a wood pusher ever since. At 15 I joined the local chess club and short after began "serious theoretical studies" participating in my first national championship summer 1986, coming in third (ELO: 1575) Current national ELO is 1800, (best rating at 1854 in summer 2002.) and best performance to date is the Championship of Northern Norway, June 2001, coming in second with a 2106 perfomance.
Being a trained philosopher, I have worked as a teacher at all levels, and am now aspiring to become a writer, at the moment working on a fantasy novel. In my spare time(!) between writing articles, chronicles, essays and stories, I try to work out and practice my guitar, fingerpicking being my speciality and having recently discovered Jerry Reed and his banjo style adapted to guitar.
Two of my recent chess related articles are to be found on chessbase:
http://www.chessbase.com/newsdetail.asp?newsid=5055 and
http://www.chessbase.com/newsdetail.asp?newsid=6850
The first article addresses how to develop as a chess player, the second the chaotic situation in the world chess, FIDE in particular.
PS! Due to health circumstances, unfortunately, for now at least, I will have de decline any new friend requests.
Take care, and see you there.
