About Me:
I knew the basics of chess when i was 9yrs from a guy called David Castor (2200) and my primary school teacher Mrs Allan.
I then stopped after year six but took it up again in year 9 at my school Fortstreet high, where me and my team mates trained for the Schools highschool chess State championships and got to the finals losing to Blue mountains Grammar after a tie.
BUT ...

AHEM...
I enjoy blitz and playing in Hyde park and Townhall. These places are excellent places to train. Espescially training with some of the locals like Plaza Francisco, Micheal Dunn, Parramatta, Johnny Bolens,Pedro, Leo, Arthur Huynh, Ali, Johnno Parramatta, Amiel Rosario (The closet Gm) etc the list goes on.
My blitz OTB is quite strong as i've beaten experts ( Nick Cherih 2070) and FMs before (Tomek Rej) though i am no match for experienced blitz players like FM Vladimir Smirnov...or some of the
Though my official ACF chess rating is 1304,Not great but i'm stronger then my rating suggests.
Surprisingly I played against International Master George Xie today at his house for coaching (5/4/2009) and he estimated my chess strength to be between 1800 -1850 I was pleasantly surprised! Obviously I hope to get to 2000 by end of the year.He says that my strengths are that i'm a solid player who knows opening theory but my weaknesses consist of passive play and not having a general plan when I play.I tihnk it went something like this...
(Me: So whats my strength, George?
George: You are a very positional player like karpov...
Me: Awesome!
George: Except you're not a 2700 super gm.
Me:oh...
George: Exactly, the only times you ever won a game was most likely when your opponent made a mistake, is that right?
Me( Slightly disheartened): yeah, I suppose...
George: You're weakness is you don't have a general strategy ,you just make solid moves and wait on your opponents mistakes, which is ok up to point, but you are also very passive ...
Me: So whats my strength?
George: (Confused) ...You're a very solid player...with...
Me (Interupts) No, as in Fide rating.
George(Understands) Oh, I think it is between 1800 and 1850.
Me (Extremely pleased) Sweet!
..Thus by helping me with my strategy and strengthening my tactics i should be 2000 soon!! woot!!
Aside from chess I enjoy playing the piano (stopped after passing 6th grade), fencing, karate (Shotokan),reading manga and books alike and listening to music.
Incidentally i'm starting to enjoy Russel Peters, crude as the jokes may be.
I also like Dozy's blogs old man can tell stories and anecdotes well.
