When not playing chess, I play guitar, listen to music, talk to friends, give some chess lessons, and work on computer stuff.
I played in quite a lot of chessclubs otb, as well as in some otb chess tourneys. Studied chess a lot, many years ago. Occasionaly won a few times against masters in classic and rapid otb tourneys. A 2300 FIDE rated friend of mine told me that I'm worth 2200 rating, but I know my weak and strong points, and know that I can lose against 1600 when I get in positions that I don't like or don't know well. I play for beauty and creativity in chess. A nice game that I lost can give me more joy than 99 uninteresting games.
Apart from my own homepage chess blog, I started to blog here as well : http://www.chess.com/blog/achja
And here's my chesstempo tactics stats of puzzles I want to do daily : http://chesstempo.com/chess-statistics/achja Have fun ! :)
p.s. "ach ja" is an expression in dutch (as well as in german). One meaning is shrugging your shoulders, e.g. after losing a chess game through an oversight.
