About Me:

I'm an Associate Dean of the Library at Elgin Community College, IL, past advisor of a college chess club of 100+ members, and teach Chess to elementary school kids. I also am a professional singer of classical and church music and am the Music Director for my church's music program. I also teach classical music to high-school kids in Italian, German, French, Spanish , Latin, and English. I LOVE chess, I just wish I were better at it. I started playing chess about a two years ago when I started our college club (Rock Rooks - University of Wisconsin Rock County). I used to play twice a day with the students; now I don't play as much. I am known to be inconsistant and somewhat aggressive in my play. Our club purchsed the chess DVDs: Speed Chess with host Maurice Ashley, Susan Polgar's Winning Chess the Easy Way (10 volumes), and the first 10 volumes of Roman's Lab. If you are interested in our College Chess Club (Rock Rooks), check out our website above. Although the club primarily consists of college freshmen and sophomores, several faculty and members from our community are a part of the club as well. Rock Rooks is on Chess.com too.
