Greetings

I am picking up chess again after a long hiatus since high school. I needed something to help focus my mind and take a break from general stress. I am a math teacher at a private school and I have the best wife and absolutely cutest daughter in the world! She is 2 1/2 and I usually have to play in the evenings after she has gone to bed.

I hope to get better and perhaps play in some real tournaments and get a rating soon. My favorite openings so far are king pawn gambits as white, and the Sicilian and Nimzo-Indian as black.

The nom-de-plume is nothing sinister, Blackheartman happens to be the name of my favorite reggae album, a classic by Bunny Wailer, the only surviving member of The Wailers. I love music, all kinds, cooking, working out, and spending time with my family. We recently acquired two cats and I have to focus on my playing since they love to curl up in my lap when I'm playing.
