About Me:
I've been playing the piano for twelve years. I teach lessons and play concerts, funerals, weddings etc. for my money. I'm 18, and a senior in high school. I also run track and read a lot, and I got a 34 on my ACT. I just got a scholarship to the University of Utah for full-tuition, full-housing, and $350 towards books. I'm the current High School state champion, and I'll be representing the state at Denker in August. I play on ICC mostly, and my rating in standard is 1550+, but I haven't played on there for a long time, and I think my rating ought to be in the 1800s(besides, my chess suffers in strength when I'm online). I play a strange mix of openings, depending entirely on what I feel like; for example, I play the French or Caro-Kann as black, but I prefer the Ruy Lopez or tactical variations of QG as white. I'll also take a Ruy Lopez as black, but NEVER a petrov defense if I can avoid it. I switched to 1.d4 for a while just to avoid the petrov. Also, I started a chess club in my school so I could play.
