First became fascinated by chess when I was about 10 years old and saw an episode of the old "Mission Impossible" television series featuring a story line revolving around a chess grandmaster vs. a chess-playing computer program. I was instantly captivated, and have been playing ever since. Seriously, is there any better game than chess? :-)
