About Me:

I've been playing chess longer than many of my opponents on this site have been alive. But, it's only recently that things have really taken off for me where I have a better understanding of opening theory and can see the whole board.

Don't let my current rating fool you... I am quite prone to pretty major blunders! (If you look at some of my losses you'll see some doozies!) But, that's not the point, now is it? I just like to play, win or lose.

When I play players rated higher than myself I realize just how "young" I still am at this game. It's not uncommon to play them and ask myself, "How in the world did that happen?" LOL... It's a game that everyone can continuously be a student of.

One last thought... I belong to the chess.com group Circle of Trust OTB, which uses the philosophy of playing opponents without the use of databases, books, analysis board or any other source of help outside of one's own brain. Yes, it can be quite challenging, but how much better the reward when victory is accomplished without the use of anything but brainy-brawn!

Good chess to you.

Oh... if you couldn't figure out from my home page I enjoy wine... good wine. I particularly like to break down the essences of a wine in smell and taste, as well as "pair" certain wines with certain foods and discover the amazing changes in taste and texture that occur. Just "food for thought..." (ahem) And, if you ask, "Why wine?," I just might reply:

Wine-ought...

Cheers!

The perfect gift for me...

"...and the wine..."

Just screwin' around...
