Haven`t played much in 20 years until chess.com in Jan 2009 and been at it daily 1-10 games 24-7 online..No one to play much with much until then. ..few games at Uni..Played brother all the time as teenager..who was SW England champion so used to some good moves..He was VERY good and would get excited about some moves and show me in his school uniform after getting back from a school match as school chess capt. I am not really a club player..I would stand in for school chess team if needed..I don`t read chess books much either but was good at a good grammar school & knew the main lines and names young from bro`s game`s before tea usual....but I recall a many lines and gambits. I am a classical player really with some flair and thoroughness and really enjoying chess.com and I am making use of online information tutorials and all in a way I never did too much when younger.....I am a born again chess player : ) Chess is now a daily ongoing occurrence! Also like playing people from all round the world... my game is getting better all the time and chess.com is part of my world. Chess. Good for the brain and wonderful use of time. I have recommended chess.com to many others as well. It`s all good out here : )
Nearly nearly 6 months on since joining and still on a daily diet of 1 to 10 games. Breaks only after a tournament usually as don`t play friends too much when in the zone! I have ironed out a lot of sloppy thinking consolidated, crystallized, opened the cerebral valves on permanent chess standby and have become fluid with some great turn around play and great wins under my belt and a slowly rising grade which I am hanging onto in between practice with friends of a lower grade I am looking for some harder games but seems this is all best at random in chess tournaments..game first in my first go with 10 straight wins right on a serious coming together of chess in my mind.
I am constantly finely tweeking my game with all the practice on chess.com and getting more and more insight into the game, sacks and thinking ahead a much better synthesized habits and focus...playing the best chess of my life in paradigm shift quantum leaps of improvement and resolve....
I also love Classical Music, Philosophy, Art, Science, Gardening and Golf and read a lot of e-books on SONY Reader. Found many chess books there on torrent sites and half reading those too now : )
I teach/lecture and write.
I now feel good enough to represent Team England and win if I can without throwing games away ....
Practise makes better...perfection is nigh unattainable in chess but bouts of genius and style and brilliance have been known to shine in a game or two whilst learning also : ) Part of my life now.... chess : )) And enjoying every minute. : )))
