My Chess Style / Favorite Openings:
I started playing chess when I was about 9. I used to watch my father play it and was fascinated by it. We used to play together often. I never beat him though.
I'll never forget the first time I beat my grandfather. I said "checkmate' and he frantically searched the board for a way out and after what seemed like 10 speechless minutes of looking for an escape all of a sudden with one swoop of the arm the chess pieces went flying everywhere. That was one of my greatest moments in Life! I'll never forget that and I always chuckle when I think about it.
I love the game because it is a war in miniature and you can totally lose yourself in a game. All your problems disappear, your worries...and life is simple again!
