I am a chess addict, played since I was 5 (well learned the moves at that age), and played daily during school days. Joined the legendary Lewis Chess Club in 1993 which was set up in the wake of the Kasparov/Short WCC.
Was Lewis Junior Champion from 1994-95, and very few people could beat me at school. I was part of the Lewis Chess Club Committee that set up the fabled Isle of Lewis Open in 1995 which sealed my love for the game.
Played at tournament level throughout the late 90s. Lived in Australia for 4 years and played casually then, but whilst working in a call centre in Brisbane, I spend several lunch breaks playing fellow colleagues, a few of whom were strong competition.
Only joined Chess.com in September of last year which as re-sparked my love for the game.
Joined the Glasgow Montrose club last November, and have recently been playing in tournaments and league games.
I've lived in the west end of Glasgow for over 2 years, working in sales and customer service. Like going out around the west end, city centre, merchant city. Love traveling, been most of the way round Europe and Australia.
Big music fan, favorites include: Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, The Who, Rolling Stones, Iron Maiden, Free, Beatles, U2, Metallica, Genesis, Rush, Scorpions, Judas Priest, Journey, Muse. Also like classical, blues and jazz.
