About Me:
I first learned chess when I was about 6 or 7, but never really had much passion for the game until high school. Since then though I have been hopelessly addicted. I love the history, the competition, and meeting people from around the world. I don't get to play as much tournament chess as I'd like owing to the lack of tournaments in my area. Recently my time available to play has been reduced due to the birth of my son so I have taken to playing more correspondence chess. This format is perfect for those with limited time. I enjoy playing older/unorthodox openings and I especially enjoy Chess960, it's a shame more people don't play it.
Anyone interested in help improving their game, don't hesitate to send me a message. I'm more than willing to help analyze games/learn openings/whatever you need. Basically looking to get my foot in the door "coaching".
Chess goals include winning the Missouri Class Championship, the Missouri Championship (one day, not at that level yet), playing in a large tournament (I'm thinking the National Open in Vegas would be cool), I would like to see my USCF rating get above 2000 (this requires traveling to some bigger tournaments though so will take some time), and helping others enjoy the game :-)
