Leisure LINC - 1st online network dedicated to chess, launched in 1986. Played via modem through LINC's UNIX mainframe. Users connected to network primarily through Tymnet or Telenet. Before The LINC became the USA TODAY Sports Center, I was the Director of News and Online Development. Much time was spent on the Chess News Room, which featured weekly exclusives by Alex Dunne, Larry Evans, Hannon Russell, and others.
