“Life is like a game of chess, changing with each move” - Chinese proverb "Chess is not merely an idle amusement; useful in the course of human life...for life is a kind of chess, in which we have often points to gain, and competitors or adversaries to contend with, and in which there is a vast variety of good and ill events..." - Benjamin Franklin, Similar to the game, every move we made in our lives have consequences, it might be good or bad. If we first think and analyze the consequences that might happen, our correct decision will lead us to victory. Otherwise, similar to the game of chess, we might be surprised by the opponents countermove. Similar to chess, we cannot rewind our life clock. However, as long as it ticks, there still hope. But life is a whole lot more than a game. In the game, your only objective is to checkmate your opponent’s King. But in life, it depends on our purpose why we live. Some of us might spend their energy seeking worldly pleasures such as possessions, position, or power. These material possessions, professional success, and personal victories were enjoyable. However they last only for this life. Then they’re all left behind. Whatever we have on this earth is only temporary. It cannot be exchanged for our soul. These earthly victories in the game of life don’t count for much. What really counts is what’s done for our Lord Jesus Christ. “What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?” – Mark 9:11 (NIV) “Those who live for God are the real winners in life.” -ODB
