Indian Defences

As White, I like to play the Catalan 3 g3. The Catalan avoids the Nimzo-Indian, avoids the Queen's Indian and (from a different move order) the Catalan avoids the QGD.

I find the Grunfeld aesthetically pleasing.
The King's Indian is not as attractive to me, but I can see why it has a devoted following. Did you know that at one time the King's Indian was being called the Ukrainian Defence? The developers of the King's Indian were Isaac Boleslavsky, David Bronstein, Efim Geller and Alexander Konstantinopolsky, all from the Ukraine.

This can lead to the Benko Gambit after 3 d5 b5. I have noticed many American players use the Benko Gambit.
