About Me:
I am a full time high school science teacher in the Bay Area. I enjoy teaching science since it involves complex thought processes, involved analyses, and an agility that requires one to be always alert, open to new ideas, and at the forefront of any changes in the field. Chess is remarkably similar to science in these ways. I have also recently become interested in scholastic chess, reading Nimzowitsch's My System and learning strategy, tactics, and positional play. I enjoy the chess mentor and tactics trainer here and feel that drills are an excellent way to improve chess play. If you love chess or have been playing for a long time, I'd love if you can suggest a few books on chess strategy to me. I am always looking to improve my game, especially with the endgame and opening. I can't seem to do a good job of the endgame. My favorite chessmaster is Jose Raul Capablanca seen below
