I play a lot of guitar. My chess and guitar hobbies somewhat juxtapose each other. I play guitar loud and aggressive but I play chess fairly conservatively.
As far as players go...nobody really. I respect Diemer for his work in my favorite gambit, and Capa played some pretty cool games. I've started playing the grob a lot lately.
