About Me:
I'm a 26-year-old male and I'm married to Emily (Dawntreader7). I have two cats named Oscar and Nolan. I have a bachelor's degree in Church Music and a master's degree in Music Education from Bob Jones University. I'm a conservative Christian and I enjoy writing sacred music and singing in church. I also enjoy playing video games, solving various sized Rubik's Cubes, and of course, I love to play chess!
I've enjoyed chess for as long as I can remember. I played against my peers in high school and read multiple books on the subject. In college, I taught Emily to play, and now she beats me about half of the time. Don't be fooled by her beauty... if you're expecting an easy game, she'll take you by surprise! My wife and I have recently been playing chess online quite a bit, thanks to Facebook chess and now, Chess.com! I consider myself a slightly above average player, with a solid grasp of basic game strategy. I'm currently working on my knowledge of openings. My favorite opening right now is the Queen's Gambit, because it quickly turns into a very sharp game. I'd love to play in a tournament some day and receive a more official rating.
