I'm retired military and a big lover of Chess. Garry Kasparov is my hero in Chess. I only wish I could play like him. I learned to play Chess late in life on a Apple IIGS using the program (Chessmaster 2100) back in 1988. I now use an iMac and iPad to play Chess on.
The only thing I can guarantee is that I'll put up a good fight...
“One doesn't have to play well, it's enough to play better than your opponent” - Siegbert Tarrasch
"The battle for the ultimate truth will never be won. And that's why chess is so fascinating." - Hans Kmoch
"Like dogs who sniff each other when meeting, chess players have a ritual at first acquaintance: they sit down to play speed chess." - Anatoly Karpov
"Chess Wizard" Computer: Your move: bishop to knight four. My move: knight to rook three. MacReady: Poor baby. You're stating to loose it, aren't you? "Chess Wizard" Computer: Your move: king to rook one. My move: rook to knight six. Checkmate. Checkmate. MacReady pours his drink into the computer tower, frying it MacReady: Cheating bitch.
"Only he who never plays never loses." ~ Anatoly Karpov
"If you wish to succeed, you must brave the risk of failure." ~ Garry Kasparov
"When men lose against me, they always have a headache ... or things of that kind. I have never beaten a completely healthy man!" - Susan Polgar
"Of Chess it has been said that life is not long enough for it, but that is the fault of life, not Chess." ~ William Ewart Napier
