About Me:

Well lets see... My name is Matt, I'm 17 years old.  I really love chess and hope to play it professionally one day (yeah, a longshot, I know).  In that fashion I've been studying quite a bit.  If you ever have some interesting tidbit or amazing game you want to show me please do!  Anything chess interests me.  On a sidenote, I do work as a coach occasionally.  If your chess.com rating is lower than, lets say 1600, and you're looking to learn send me a message and maybe we could work something out.

Alright I guess that's it!

If you ever want a game send me a challenge!  No promises I'll be able to accept but it's nice to have the option :P.

-matt

Theory in Non-Theoretical Lines

Submitted by ih8sens on Oct 20, 2009 12:40pm.

A lot of players I know (even experts and masters) make a fairly significant mistake.  In an effort to avoid... well... effort, these players opt for less common openings, hoping to avoid theory.  The Scotch and the Scandinavian are the two most po...Read more »
