About Me:
I've been playing since I was 16 years old and haven't improved a bit! I play (when I'm in London) for Woodbridge Chess Club (LL) but my colleagues are getting a bit hissed off that I keep losing so they are threatening to put me on board 11. I thought that there were only 10 boards but I could be mistaken. A BCF 120 grading could be flattering me although I did attain 180 at a weekend congress last century. I had the dubious pleasure of driving Botvinnik and his 2 KGB minders from an Ilford simul (Hastings winners were obliged to do a simul at Ilford in those days) to USSR headquarters. A few local players were trying to prove that Mikhail wasn't as good as he was made out to be so the evening drew on until the last underground (tube, metro) train had gone and I was the only one watching who had a car. It's a pity that he is no longer around - he forgot to pay for the petrol. Financial analysis is boring so I have, in the last few years, started trading antique maps & books (15th century onward).
