Im a high school student trying to get back into chess. I learned to play when I was six, about twelve years ago, but ive played no more than fifty games over those twelve years. I like: politics, classical music, skiing, drawing, photography, architecture (which im going to study next year in college), trying new things, playing games like chess and settlers of catan, computers and linux.
Whenever you see a star near my name, I am paying to use the other wonderful featurs of chess.com, these include game explorer. I do use databases, its legal, and I see nothing wrong with it. Many belive that we who use it abuse the power of knowing the statistical outcome of the game, but I assure you, those numbers should all be taken with a grain of salt. If you dont wish to play me because I use the GE, simply let me know and I wont use it when I play against you. Its not something that helps me win, but it is a tool that helps me learn, so Im happy to put it down for a game or many.
