Well... I'm 19 right now going to university to (hopefully) become either a mechanical or electrical engineer. My passion is soccer and I play chess here as much as I can:)
I taught myself chess when I was around eight and picked it up slightly more seriously about a year and a half ago. I've never had any real training or mentoring to improve my game I just love to keep playing and learn from my mistakes:) kinda wish I had been trained by some chess legend from the time I had learned so then I wouldn't have to continually lose to those who did lol but such as life. I should probably be studying openings or analysing great games but it does seem like a lot of work for such a fun game... lol.
Of the little chess theory I know, Kasperov and Alekhine would have to be my favorite players and recently found love in the king's gambit.
For many of the reasons named above, when chess960 become an option at chess.com I'm an instant fan. I love the fact there are no openings, and it is completely tactical from the first move. I find I'm a pretty tactically sound player which is the basis of decent rating I have here:)
