i'm a complete and total geek.

that is about all you need to know about me.
i started playing chess with my grandpa when i was a little girl. i played with him every time i saw him, until his parkinson's got so bad he couldn't anymore. he died in february, and the day of his funeral i played three games with my best friend, the first i'd played in the last two years. i got into it again, and it happened to coincide with some friends from my little nerd circle forming a chess club.
i play extremely defensively. i like being black more. i am not serious in the analytical sense, i don't spend time learning openings or studying old games, but i don't love the game any less for all my lack of knowledge. i haven't played in any tournaments. but i play pretty much every day, both online and in the real world.
