About Me:
I have a Ph.D. in computational linguistics and an MS in Management, and work in the Operations Research group at General Motors. I have been lucky enough to travel, work, and live in both Europe (mainly Germany and Belgium) and Asia (Thailand). I enjoy great literature, both fiction and non-fiction, although my current reading is mainly chess. While I have a 4th degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, I retired from practice and teaching some time ago. I love to listen to the blues (and pop/rock/classical).

My Chess Style / Favorite Openings:
I got hooked on chess in the summer of 2004, and have been studying and playing ever since then. Someday, I aspire to be good at chess, but I have a long way to go. I find the complexities, personalities of the masters, creativity of good players, and the parallels with real life to be utterly fascinating.
