About Me:
I love all sorts of games yet only really started playing chess in April of 2008. Of course I've known the rules since childhood but now I'm going to actually try to understand the game a bit. So far it's been incredibly enjoyable...moreso than I ever imagined it would be.
My username comes from my online backgammon playing. I lacked the creativity required for a nice chess username.
At the moment, I'm reading Chernev's "Logical Chess: Move by Move" and finding it both well-written and compelling.
Chess Books I've Read:
* "A World Champion's Guide to Chess" by Susan Polgar. As I'm a fan of chess problems, I think this book is outstanding.
* "Teach Yourself Visually Chess" by Edwards. I didn't quite get very much out of this and, interestingly, I barely looked at any of the pretty photos. That was supposed to be one of the selling points of the book.
I've also begun playing Shogi (Japanese Chess) and find it to be a fascinating game. If you're interested in playing online, let me know!
