About Me:
OPENING GUIDELINES
Open with a center pawn perferbally d4 or e4 for best central control.
Develop Knights before bishops and develop towards the center.
Make a developing move with threatens something. For Example: 1 e4 d5 2. exd5 Qxd5 you should play Nc3 attacking queen making it move so you can bring out another piece without black bringing out another piece.
Pick the most suitable square for a piece and develop it there once and for all:
Dont move a piece twice in the opening
Dont exchange developed pieces for undeveloped pieces.
Dont exchange without good reason
Dont block the path of development for your pieces.
Dont block your center pawns.
Do NOT bring out the Queen early.
Castle as soon as possible, perferbally on the king side.
Play to control the center, (d4 e4 d5 e5) and the Enlarged Center (c3-c6 to f3-f6)
Always try to maintain 1 pawn in the center.
Do not sacrifice without clear and adequate reason
Many players are too prone to attack before firmly establishing what positional advantages are inherent in their position.
The disadvantages of pawn weaknesses is not the pawns themselves but the passively placed pieces which result in which to guard them.
Exchanges ease cramped positions. (Do not trade down when you have more space to move pieces around in.)
Final Breakthrough is not made until all the pieces are on their best possible squares.
Play well positionally and the tactical fruits will come.
Seek combinational chances based on your opponents king position and any unguarded pieces he may have.

I am a chess.com greeter at the moment. I find it amazing how many members join every minute! I usually get about 2 games every minute. So if you think there are lots of other greeters as well, but there are literally 30 people joining every minute.
