About Me:
My name is Michael E. Machado. I am from San Antonio, Texas where I have lived all of my life. I have been an active member of Chess.com since June 10, 2009 so I have been playing now for 5-months now. I currently have hold a rating of 2027 as of Oct. 30, 2009 and hold a playing record of 42-wins 8-draws and 14- losses as of Oct. 30, 2009. I am also currently an active member of over 8- teams. I play for the Chess Unlimited Group, Team USA South Central Region, Bobby Fischer's Group, The Hawaian Warriors, The San Antonio Chess team, The Burbank Highschool Chess Players Alummni Team, the Nonesuch Group, We Chatt South America Team and have just recently formed my own team " Karpov's Karpathions " in which we recruit only good players rated above 1700. We currently have approximetly 15- members on the team but are looking to recruit more good players. I have also been a member of the USCF. Chess Organization for over 31 years and a member of the Texas Chess Associ- ation for over 25 years and a member of the San Antonio Chess Team for about 25- years and once held a rating of 1845 but now is 1623. I learned to play chess in Sept.of 1972 at the age of 14 just after Bobby Fischer won the World title from Boris Spassky and played throughout my Highschool years. I then joined the USCF. organization in 1978 and the Texas Chess Association and have been playing ever since. I love chess but I also take the game deadly serious. My favorite hobbies are playing chess of course, I am also a very accomplished Pocket billiards player, and I also play a mean stick of miniature golf, and also enjoy Barbeques, yard sales, going to the movies, going out to eat, and also like model ship building. I have been married for over 20- years to a beautiful girl named Leticia and we have 7- cats, two inside cats named Christina and Felix both black and white cats and also have 5- other outside cats as well. I hope to continue being a member of Chess.com for many years to come and make many friends as well and have many challenging games to be played.
