I started to play chess when I was 12, just a few weeks before Bobby Fisher and Boris Spassky played for the world championship. I played several years, until 17/18 years old. Then I stopped...until last year...I don't know why, honestly. I played wargames and boardgames for many years (actually I stopped playing these games), and less than a year ago a new wave of passion for chess raised back.
