About Me:
I started playing chess when I was about 9 or 10. Dad taught me how to move the pieces but i pretty much had to learn everything from there on my own. A childhood friend lent me a book on tactics shortly after since his father was an enthusiast and had many books available. Studying books, hired a terrific coach and making chess a part of my life once again. I don't feel the need to compete in tournaments at all. To me, Chess is a leisure, nothing more - nothing less. I love chess because it stimulates the brain to think beyond what i can see presently. There are always absolutes within randomness. It is up to the human brain to recognize patterns and anticipate future outcome.
On White, I like KG, QG and King's Pawn. On Black, I like to play Sicilian and French Defense. I am a positional player. I very rarely attack early on unless my pieces are sufficiently developed to withstand a possible counterattack. My favorite player is Kasparov for his capacity for storing patterns and moves. I like Morphy for his positional genius. Capablanca for his creativity in the midst of agression. Most of all, Fischer who thought of chess much more than just a game but a reflection of man's genius.
