About Me:
Well, I'm 31 at the moment, and I've only been playing chess for a few years. My father had a really great marble chess set when I was growing up, but the extent of my experience with it was to somehow find a way to turn the white king into 2 pieces. Of course the glue job looked absolutely hideous, but my dad never played chess, so I'm still not sure if he knows I broke it...
Until about 4 years ago, all I knew was how the pieces moved. Then I started playing with my roommate who showed me his chess books and a few tricks, and I was hooked. We started recording our games, and I played incessantly on Yahoo chess. Then I got engaged, and she didn't know how to play chess. So I spent all my time with her and no time with chess. Now that we're married, however, I have more time, and discovering what chess.com calls "turn-based" chess has been amazing. I play here and on facebook, sometimes live chess (though I hate blitz chess).
I'm excited to always have something more to learn about this great game!
