I'm into reading and admire Paulo Coelho. I am more at home with Victorian classics but Russky's like Pushkin and Tolstoy fascinate me. My music taste is universal though they tend to lean to alternative rock -- Goo Goo Dolls, Lifehouse, Oasis etc.I have a soft spot for Enya and Bryan McKnight on rainy days. Not exactly an intelligent person but I can keep up with witty people.
My games feature unsolicited complications; will investigate aggressive moves without bothering to analyze! In balanced positions I always overestimate my chances and underestimate the opponent's threats. If I'm a pawn up, I play like I'm two pawns down -- WHAT IS THE JOY OF WINNING PAWN UP ENDGAMES?? My ideal player is one who is able to reason like Steinitz and imagine like Tschigorin.

At present I have only managed to have 70 tries at Tactics Trainer, and despite a meagre 1804 (I found myself lurking on page 4 of 66), I really feel that I can do better. I wish I could do more but then I'll have to wait for the Visa card first ...Read more »
