About Me:
I first played chess when I was about 11, never had the game explained to me and was there to get beat by the kids whose parents knew how to play. Best I ever did was a draw. Then years later in my mid-twenties I taught myself and started winning a few. I would like to get up to a very strong club level, maybe 1800/1900 but I'm a way off yet.
Sometimes chess is just a distraction from things I cant think about.

Hopefully to those fairly new to the game (I'm thinking 1100 or under) this will show what kind of thing stronger (slightly!) players are thinking about and the kinds of things you will need to keep in mind if you want to become better yourself.
