I am the past President of the North Dakota Chess Assoc. I have played chess since I was 12 years old taught I myself to play. I grew up in rural town of 89 people in northern Minnesota. I didnt get to play as much chess growing up as I wanted. I live in Fargo now and play weekly at the chessnuts club and with many local players as possible . I love chess I guess thats why my feeling about life is you give back to what you love and life gives back to you.I know alot of players that complain about time controls breaks and sites of tourney's but dont get involved in Chess. They will never be happy and will end up with kidney stones or crash their bike into a parked car. My point is be involved make a difference in other lives give back or shut up.
