About Me:
Thinker. Someone once told me there is no such thing as a light, frivolous conversation with me. But I do like to have fun; it's just not spontaneous fun, I guess.
Language is important to me. I studied literature in both English and German. Language carries with it many nuances, many philosophical experiences. Though I do not necessarily consider myself possessing a large vocabulary. I thrive on the double meaning of words and the homonymic nature of language. Word play is fantastic fun.
I learned to play chess when I was 4 or 5 years old. On a Sunday, my father would bring out the chess set and we would play. Chess quickly became my game of choice. My cousins and I spent hours at a time playing each other throughout the summer. But eventually, as life got more and more busy, the opportunity to play became less and less. I spent my middle and high school years away from the game completely and only returned back to it when my father gave me an electronic chess set as a graduation gift. Now, it has become an obsession. Walking down a tiled hallway becomes an exercise in knight moves. Driving down the freeway is a similar experience. (Now, if only my strength of play could match that obsession...) :)
