About Me:
I have been out of the USCF for about 8 years. My last rating was 1736. I still play a lot on the internet. I won my high school and college championship along with several tournaments across the state.
am a father of a 22 year college senior. I have been married to my college sweetheart for 30 years. I enjoy computers (programming), fishing, chess, and going to the gym. I still have a 300 Lb bench press at 50.
I discovered chess at the age of 15. 1972 and I give Bobby Fischer all the credit.I would not have learned the game at all had he not made the daily news with his defeat of the Russians singlehandly. He captured my interest. I learned the game. . I mainly gave up over the board because here in northeast Tenn. there was little chess without driving 200-300 miles and of course there is never any money. But thank God the internet came along. It rekindled my interest. Now I can play anytime at home with strong competition from around the world and get a rating to. How cool is that? It is wonderful to work hard all day, eat a good supper at home, then sit in your underwear and wind down the evening with great chess. I love it.
